Ferries to Ischia

The island of Ischia, part of the Phlegraean Islands archipelago, is located in the northern part of the Gulf of Naples and can be easily reached by ferry from the port of Naples in about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or by hydrofoil in just one hour.

You can visit Ischia at any time of the year, choosing from the island’s three main ports: Ischia Porto, Casamicciola, and Forio. Ferries run frequently and are operated by four different navigation companies. If you are traveling with a car, Medmar and Caremar ferries depart from the Calata Porta di Massa pier in Naples, taking about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or from the port of Pozzuoli in about 1 hour. However, during the summer, Campania residents are not allowed to board vehicles.

If you prefer a faster journey, Caremar, Snav, and Alilauro hydrofoils depart from the Beverello and Mergellina piers and will take you to Ischia in about 1 hour.

ISCHIA
Known as the “Green Island,” Ischia is famous for its enchanting beaches, breathtaking landscapes, bays, and vine-covered hills. The thermal springs and fumaroles, evidence of the island’s volcanic activity, offer moments of pure relaxation and wellness. These natural phenomena, known since ancient times, are linked to the legend of Typhoeus, a seven-headed giant condemned by Zeus to support the island for eternity. It is said that the giant’s tears and hot breath gave rise to the island’s springs and fumaroles.

Ischia offers spectacular sunsets, crystal-clear waters, fascinating seabeds, enchanting atmospheres, and fun for families and couples alike.
